Welcome to

3rd Grade!

Dear Parents:

I am very pleased to be your child's third grade teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.  I am looking forward to an exciting instructional year.

I would like to provide a brief history of myself.  I'm a Houston Native.  I've earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Sam Houston State University and a Master of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Houston.  I have thirty plus years of teaching experience, 25 years HISD, 5 years in Lamar CISD and four years with William Smith Tri-County Head Start.

I have been married 38 years and the mother of two adult children.  My husband is also an educator (32 years).  We have lived in Katy since 1994.  Our son is a graduate of Taylor High School & Prarie View University.  Our daughter is a graduate of Cinco Ranch High School and The University of Texas @ Austin.  We have been residents of Fulshear for three years.

Let me share with you our class expectations as we proceed into a most productive year!

Take-Home Folder

Each student will take a green folder home daily.   Please look for homework assignments, special announcement and upcoming school activities.  The pockets are labeled -  work to keep and work or papers to return.

Daily homework will be sent in their green folders and students can copy homework assignments onto their weekly charts inside the folders.  Parents will initial the chart inside the folders.

Spelling Test

We will have weekly spelling test except, short weeks  or scheduling conflicts.  Students will receive the new word lists on  Mondays.  Also, words will be posted on

I will use to post lesson plans and some homework assignments.  The weekly spelling list will  also be posted.

Please refer to the SCA handbook for the school's policy on attendance.  Please send a written excuse for absences and tardies.

Physical Education Class (P.E.)

Students will attend P.E. Classes on Mondays, Wednesday and Friday.  Please make sure your child has the proper dress for P.E.  Remember, dressing out for P.E. is required.
